Free OpenOSX™ Grass 6.3.0 and 6.2.1 Downloads

Please note that these free downloads for OpenOSX™ Grass do not contain the suite of ready to use GIS software that is included with OpenOSX™ GrassPro.

They are however complete, stand-alone versions of GRASS 6.3.0 and GRASS 6.2.1 contained in ready-to-use, installation free applications that are the same version of "OpenOSX Grass" that is included with OpenOSX™ GrassPro. All of the required and most of the optional libraries for GRASS 6.2.1 and 6.3.0 are included.

In addition to GRASS, "OpenOSX™ Grass" 6.3.0 has been built with the following software to enable many numerous features:

ImageMagick 6.3.8 GDAL 1.5.2 MySQL 5.0.51a
PDFlib Lite 7.0.3 PROJ 4.6.0 ffmpeg 2008-04-26
FFTW 3.1.2 Freetype 2.3.5 Expat 2.0.1
GEOS 3.0.0 Gettext 0.17 Jasper 1.900.1 (JPG2000)
jpeg 6b lesstif 0.95.0 libgeotiff 1.2.4
libiconv 1.12 libpng 1.2.26 giflib 4.1.6
libxml2 2.6.32 netCDF 3.6.2 OGDI 3.1.5
Postgresql 8.3.1 Mesa 7.0.3 Readline 5.2
sqlite 3.5.8 t1lib 5.0.0 Tcl/Tk 8.5.2
libtiff 3.8.2 unixODBC 2.2.12 Lizardtech (MrSid) 6.0.7.1407
HDF 4.2r2 HDF 5 1.8.0 Xerces 2.0.8

A full installation of SQLite and UnixODBC is included. The included software has also been built with support for Postgres, MySQL and PostGIS, however, just the libraries are included with this free version. Full installations of Postgres with PostGIS are included with our "OpenOSX GrassPro" product.

The following "OpenOSX™ Grass" features have been enabled using Apple's libraries (not included with "OpenOSX™ Grass") which are: X11, AltiVec optimized BLAS, LAPACK, GLw and NLS.

The OpenOSX™ Grass application will create a "grass" folder in your home directory if it does not exist and will also create a tutorial, "spearfish" dataset in your "grass" folder. It is recommend that you create your datasets in the "grass" folder (you can always link other directories there by making an "alias" or "symbolic link"), because "OpenOSX™ Grass" will try to change to that directory by default (this can be customized - however), thereby selecting the database to use for you.
