FAQS
grdsample Resample a 2-D gridded data set by bicubic or bilinear interpolation onto a new grid. You may choose a different registration, new grid spacing, new quantity of nodes or a new sub-region to be used.
grdreformat Converts .grd files into other grid formats, optionally the user may select a subset of the data to be written and may specify scaling, translation, and a NaN-value
nearneighbor Nearest-neighbor gridding scheme; it will read arbitrarily located xyz (and optionally w) values and perform a nearest neighbor algorithm to assign an average value for each node that have one or more points within a search radius centered on the node.
xyz2grd Convert an equidistant xyz file to a 2-D gridded, binary ".grd" file which is utilized by most of GMT's commands.
grd2xyz Converts from a 2-D gridded file to table text/binary XYZ (grd) file
grdclip Limits the z-range in gridded data sets; clips the grd file above and/or below specified height
grdpaste Combines "a.grd" and "b.grd" into a new "a+b.grd" by pasting them together along their common edge.
grdcut Extract a sub-region from a .grd file
grdedit Modify header information in a 2-D gridded file, grdedit reads the header information in a binary 2-D grdfile and replaces the information with values provided
grdblend Blend several partially over-lapping grdfiles onto one new larger grid. It will read a listing of gridded files and blend parameters and create a binary grd file by blending the other grids using cosine-taper weights.
blockmean This filter is used to block average (x,y,z) data by L2 norm, it writes a mean position and value for every non-empty block in a grid region.
blockmedian This filter is used to block average (x,y,z) data by L1 norm, it writes a mean position and value for every non-empty block in a grid region.
