SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.--(OPENOSX-COM)--Jan. 11th, 2002--
OpenOSX.com, a leading provider of easy-to-use, world-class
open-source software, today began shipping their OpenWeb 2.1 CD at
the Macworld Expo, San Francisco.

Use your Macintosh as a secure, dynamic World Wide Web server,
an Enterprise Intranet server with SQL (structured query language)
backends and graphical user interface frontends. The OpenWeb CD
will install and configure a suite of powerful web and database applications
with the ease that one might expect as a Macintosh user.

The OpenWeb CD installs and perhaps most importantly, correctly

The OpenWeb CD is bundled with complete documentation in HTML
and PDF formats, limited technical support and completely configured source
code and de-installation software.

Apache Web Server is the robust, full-featured web server that serves
the majority of the World's web content.

The mod_SSL module provides strong cryptography for the Apache
(v1.3) web server via the Secure Socket Layer and Transport Layer Security.

PHP is an industry-strength cross-platform server-side scripting language,
with which you can easily create and serve dynamically generated web pages.

WebDAV: enables web sites to be authored remotely. WebDAV provides
authoring support for Web resources of any media type, be they HTML, GIF,
JPEG, or other. Adobe Acrobat 5, Adobe GoLive 5 and Macromedia
Dreamweaver are among the list of commercial products that can interface with
WebDAV.

PDF_lib allows the creation of dynamic PDF files. PDF_lib enables the
writing, creation and manipulation of PDF files. This version of PDF_lib is a
demo version.

Tomcat is used for serving up Java Server Pages and Servlets.

MySQL is for serving databases on the Internet and enterprise LAN/WANs.
PostgreSQL is a popular alternative to MySQL.

MyODBC/iODBC are standard Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)
for accessing information from different database systems and storage formats.
phpMyAdmin/phpPgAdmin are browser-based interfaces that allow you to
accomplish most day-to-day database administration tasks from the comfort of
your browser.

phpShop is a PHP-based e-commerce application development platform.
It offers developers a modular environment where code can be easily reused
and managed in a simple yet powerful way.

phpDig is a small HTTP spider/indexing search engine using PHP and
MySQL. It features an administration, which allow the site administrator to
indexing of both static and dynamic pages.

phpAds is a banner management and tracking system written in PHP.
It can manage multiple banners (any size) per client, view daily, overall and
summary statistics and send statistics to clients via email.

phpPolls allows you to set up a voting booth on your web site. With
phpPolls you can setup, administer, conduct and view polls in an easy manner.

WebCalendar is a web based personal calendar.
phpSysInfo is used to display information about a web host.

FreeType is a software font engine supporting a myriad of font formats, that
is capable of producing high-quality output (glyph images).
SSL 0.9.6b scrambles data with 128-bit strong encryption between the
clients web browser and your server.

OpenSSH is a program used to securely log onto a remote machine.
